The next time you're looking for a range bag and find the prices way out of line, stroll down to the fishing tackle area of the same sporting goods store and look at some of the soft-sided tackle boxes. Recently, I was eyeballing a range bag at Academy Sports, but couldn't see spending the 60+ dollars they wanted for one in the size I needed. Just a few aisles over I found this tacklebag for only $19.99—lots of pockets, lots of room and it even came with several plastic utility boxes I can use for spare parts, ammunition or whatever.
