I attended their CHL class and was very impressed with the entire experience. I have never shot a gun beyond a BB Gun and when we went to the shooting range I was a little nervous. My gun was giving me trouble so one of the instructor's let me use her gun. They were very good at helping me to remember my stance, how to properly hold the gun, how to avoid injuring myself with the gun when I am loading it, and by the end of my experience at the shooting range I was so excited I wanted to go again, right then! The class was great for an all day class and I recommend Texas Gun Pros to everyone, especially newbies like me! Great job!! |

Educational, motivational, enlightening, and it felt like we were being taught by concerned family members. Phillip was personable, knowledgeable and not at all aloof. I was very apprehensive about the gun range proficiency test and sure enough my 9mm jammed and I got behind. Phillip didn't panic, so I didn't! He cleared my (new to me old Tanfoglio) and allowed me to catch up my round count without humiliating me with some crass put down remark. A very classy and professional operation. GREAT CLASS!!! I signed up for the CHL class and was really not looking forward to sitting in a boring class all day but the Texas Gun Pros guys made it interactive and interesting so the day flew by. They were very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. We had beginners and CHL renewals in our class; everyone from retired military to housewives and they made us all feel comfortable in the classroom and at the range. I took the concealed handgun class and was very impressed by the instructor who was knowledgable and helpful. I was able to pass both the written exam and the shooting range test even though I dont have a lot of experience shooting. I especially liked the fact that the legal responsibilities were presented.Please note that the shooting range is at a different location than the Texas Gun Pros office so check their web site before you attend class so you know how to get to the shooting rang. I am female and felt comfortable in class so dont hesitate to sign up. |

Great class! The team at Texas Gun Pros know how to educate and keep everyone engaged for a all day class. Safety is stressed thoughout and you learn without having to open a book and read all day long. The frank conversations and dialog opened my eyes to a whole new appreciation for having a CHL. I took the basic pistol class from Texas Gun Pros about a month before going to the CHL class. I had only fired a pistol a couple times so thought a refresher course would be good. The basic class was very informative and allowed you to handle/shoot several different .22 revolvers and pistols. It made me much less anxious when it came time to qualify for the CHL at the range. The CHL class itself is very interesting - the videos shown are very practical and the class goes by very fast - it is not just a bunch of boring lecturing. They also have a section on the real aspects of carrying which is interesting. I highly recommend these guys! It is no wonder their schedules are full. |

Loved the class! Took the Firearms Home Safety Course. It was great class to get introduced to firearms. The one-on-one with Phillip and David was great! It allowed me to comfortably get used to handling a firearm, loading one and getting over that initial fear of just being around one. I m comfortable now that if I were to be faced with a gun situation, I would not fear the gun itself, but the person holding it instead. Cannot wait to take the next class! |

The guys at Texas Gun Pros know how hard it can be to keep the attention of a room full of adults with different learning requirements & different aptitudes. They break up the necessary legal stuff with funny videos that relate to the interests of everyone in class. Not all the videos are for entertainment, however. Some demonstrate some extremely important safety issues. When we went to the range to shoot, my pistol was giving me some feeding issues. David & Jerry were both extremely patient & kind, helping me fix the jam & making sure everyone on the range got all their shots off right. When a magazine ejected onto the floor in front of another shooter, Jerry stopped everyone until he could get a push broom to reach it & retrieve it for me! I highly recommend this class for anyone wanting to get their CHL! |

Great class. Low key but informative. I took the class with my 14 yo son and both of us really enjoyed it. I have no experience with handguns so it was great to handle and shoot a few different types. I also really appreciated how the instructors went out of their way to demystify the variety of handguns, and to place amateurs and gun aficionados equally at ease. |

Thank you for the great gun safety course on Sunday! Jeff and I really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, your humorous tidbits, and the personal attention when we had questions! Jeff informed me at lunch that our son has had a handgun in the house for four years. I have adamantly said 'no' to that on several occasions, and he was concerned that I would be upset. Instead, I asked our son to show me how to use his gun and urged him to spend more time at target practice so he is well-prepared to use if it needed. I appreciated being able to identify the parts, handle it correctly, and ask intelligent questions without fearing the firearm. I actually feel safer knowing he has it and can handle it properly. |

It has been two weeks since Anita and I took our CHL class at Texas Gun Pros. It was an awesome class. We both enjoyed it immensely....especially the way the information was presented. Having both attended many seminars, workshops, and inservices, we were both impressed at how you talked to us and not at us. We were both a bit apprehensive at first, especially at the gun range, as neither of us had fired a semi-automatice weapon before. Once we were there, the thought crossed our minds, "what if the person on the target were real and was threatening a member of our family?", all fear of failing left both of us quickly and surprisingly we both passed with scores of 211 and above. After we left the class, and got on the road back to our home, we spontaneously looked at each other and 'high fived' in the car. What an experience! Would we recommend to friends and family a CHL class? With no hesitation, "Yes!". Would we recommend Texas Gun Pros? Absolutely, without a second thought! As far as we are concerned no one else in the metroplex area teaches. I talked to a friend of mine who took his class four weeks ago at another location here in Fort Worth. He said it was very boring and it was hard to follow the information. He did mention that he saw the Texas Gun Pros website and almost signed up. He passed his course but is in the fourth or fifth time rereading the material. Thanks for a wonderful experience, but more than that, "thanks to you all for taking time to 'invest' in our lives how to legally protect and defend our family and our second ammendment rights as a United States Citizen. Next step is to join the NRA. |

I went to the class being a novice when it came to guns. I was sure everyone in the room knew more than I did about how to shoot a gun. Well as it turns out there were a lot of people there who were also new to guns. When we went to the shooting range, my gun kept on jamming. My overall experience at Texas Gun Pros was great. The classroom time rolled by quickly due to the engaging and interactive teaching style used by Jerry and David. The information was well organized and clearly presented. This made it very easy once we got to the written test. They did a great job covering the essential information, but also discussing practical issues related to concealed carry. The printed materials were very well put together as well. It was a comfortable and relaxed environment, not a bad way to spend a Saturday. It was good to see how well the staff worked with the newer shooters. They put the novices at ease and gave them the tools they needed to be successful. One thing that does come up is a sales pitch for Texas Law Shield with the typical "if you sign up today" offers (presented by a representative from Texas Law Shield). I have no comment on whether TLS is a good or bad thing, but I always want the time to thoroughly research important decisions, particularly related to legal matters. It wasn't high pressure, but you were left with the option to make an un-researched decision or miss out on the promotional offers. At the end of the day, I am very happy I went to Texas Gun Pros from my CHL and highly recommend them. |

Excellent place to take your CHL Class! As other reviewers have stated, the atmosphere is relaxed, and the instructors do a great job of making the long class fun. At the range, the instructors do a perfect job at helping both experienced and the less experienced shooters feel at ease and unrushed. I took off a star because of the way TexasLawShield promotes their services during the class. I have nothing against the company, and am a member myself. It is only the way they present it, which makes it seem like if you use your gun, you will be arrested/sued for it, which will cost you a fortune. That isn’t true, and while it does happen, it is only in very rare circumstances. I think that this kind of presentation may influence someone to hesitate when they should have protected themselves or, more importantly, a loved one. From what I have heard, however, it is a similar story in most other CHL Classes, so I don t know if it would really be cause to choose another class over TexasGunPros. |

Texas Gun Pros is amazing!! My mom and I took the class together and to be honest I was dreading a 10 hour course. I was surprised as to how quickly it went by! They are very serious about the material but are able to keep it fun and interesting! They are very helpful as well if you have any questions during the presentation or during the shooting portion. I was also nervous about not being able to pass because this was the second time for me to shoot, but they take it slow and I actually was able to score 10 points below the highest score! If you want to take your CHL you MUST do it through Texas Gun Pros!!! |

If you are going to spend 10 hours on a CHL class, do it here! I put it off for a while because of the time commitment, but Dave, Jerry and Phil were prepared, knowledgeable and entertaining! They even bring donuts! You can tell they are passionate about CHL and that they enjoy doing what they do. The class was comprehensive, and I passed both my shooting and written test after the day was done. I would highly recommend Texas Gun Pros- I even found a Groupon which made it very affordable for me and my husband. |

You have to spend 10 hours taking a CHL course in Texas. So it is a long day but David and Jerry of The Texas Gun Pros make it go quickly. They give you all the info you need in an enjoyable and informative class. They provide donuts, coffee, and soft drinks to keep you going. Very informative class: David, Phil and Jerry are all three awesome guys. My class had almost as many women as men. I took the 11/27 - 11/28 -2012 - 6pm to 11pm night sessions. I had no idea how liberal Texas gun laws are (by that I mean bad guys would take up a different occupation if they only knew what those of us with a CHL or Non-CHL holders are at liberty to do to protect ourselves, our property and our friends and loved ones.). I went to get fingerprinted the very next day, package is in the mail to Texas Dept. of Safety. Just waiting on the license to come in the mail. I would recommend Texas Gun Pros highly. |

I was nervous about taking the CHL class (can be intimidating for a woman) and worried that I would fall asleep at having to endure several hours in a classroom. Both fears were unwarranted. I found this class through Groupon. So happy that I stumbled across them, I couldn't have imagined a better experience. The class is taught in such a way that everyone passes and leaves feeling confident in their abilities. BUT, that isn't the best part. I am a new mom, my daughter was 7 weeks old when I took my class. Since I was going to take the class with my husband and I am breastfeeding our daughter I called to ask if I could take her with us. They were so accommodating! We were able to not only take her, but they made sure we were comfortable, the baby was comfortable, privacy for feeding times (which wasn't necessary since I have a nursing cover), and they made sure my husband and I shot at different times at the range so that our daughter was with one of us the whole time. They were fabulous. They not only were great instructors, they are just great people in general. I would recommend them to anyone who wants to take a class. |

Texas Gun Pros offered a relaxed training atmosphere, knowledgeagle instructors, and great coffee and donuts! The course materials were well constructed and informative. The ability to sign up for the legal insurance program on site was an added bonus. The indoor shooting range was a pleasant surprise - I was expecting to go to an outdoor range. I learned a lot and would recommend Texas Gun Pros to anyone interested in a good Texas CHL course. I'm now seriously considering one of their NRA courses! |

I attended the NRA Basic Pistol course to improve my understanding of semi-automatic pistols. Jerry and David did a great job teaching the class: they taught the mechanics of operating everything from single and double action revolvers to all types of semi-autos. They have a great attitude about guns and gun safety. I recommend them. The videos they used were high-quality and informative. I now have a much better understanding of pistols--esp. semi-autos which was my main goal. |

This is a top notch organization with very manageable classes and multiple instructors to break up what can be a very long class. The materials and media given were very on-target and up-to-date. They were very thorough in not only going over the rules & regulations, but covering changes as well. Very informative and well-handled course. I would recommend Texas Gun Pros to anybody looking for training; not just CHL training but gun training and hunter safety as well. I was dreading the 10 hours of required class time but the three different instructors really kept it moving fast, kept it fun, interesting, and very entertaining. I took the Basic Gun Course this past weekend. I am very comfortable with guns and have been shooting and carrying for many years but have never had any type of formal training. I am interested in other types of gun training so I thought I would start with the basics and work my way up; plus I came across a Living Social deal for the course which helped push me to actually get it worked in my schedule. David and Jerry are both very nice and really great instructors. If I were new to guns this class would have tought me alot and would have made me feel very comfortable being around them. I actually was thinking of several of my family members that I will recommend this course to. The number of people in the class was small which made it nice for the ones that needed more one on one instruction. I was not impressed with the gun range. I had hoped that the range we used would have been one worth checking out and one that I would want to return to in the future; not the case. The instruction from David and Jerry at the range was great. After shooting their guns you are also allowed to bring your own gun and ammo to shoot which is good for those that may have a new gun they are not comfortable with; having the instructors there to answer any questions is very helpful. It was worth the time and money to go to this course. I would recommend it to friends and family for sure. Thanks David and Jerry. |

I needed my 2nd renewal for my CHL and I looked at a lot of different courses that were in this area. I called a couple of them and then I called David and he came across as very knowledgeable. I booked into their next class and as he will tell you, they keep them small 10/12 people per class. This makes it very people friendly. No one got pushed aside, if you had a question, you just ask and they will answer it and make sure that you understand the answer. We all went to the range and then had lunch together and then back to the class room to finish off the course. I had to leave asap as my wife had an apointment to get to, but everyone else was talking and having a good time. I would rate this class room experience 10 out of 10. If you need to get your CHL or your renewal call David. |

I am a seasoned instructor for both the MN Department of Natural Resources and the National Rifle Association, and have been teaching classes for over 7 years. As a recent transplant to Texas, I found myself having to retake the CHL class to fulfill TX law requirements. Both myself and my son chose Texas Gun Pros and are glad we did. The presentation was comprehensive and intuitive. 10 hours is a long day, but is required by law, however Jerry and Dave were able to keep things interesting with scenarios and real world examples. I would recommend this class to both the novice shooter, and to well experienced shooters like myself. |

I have a whole new perspective on guns after taking this class. Even though I grew up around guns and we have one in our household, I was very much afraid of them and against them. David, Jerry, and Phil did such a great job of helping me overcome my fears and seeing a gun as my friend rather than my enemy and learning how to prevent it from becoming my enemy. In just one day of training, I learned about the laws surrounding owning and carrying a handgun, safety rules, psychology, and I fired a gun for the first time in my life. This is where Phil came in. He stood right alongside me as I trembled and sweated and helped me load the gun and helped me with my position as I aimed at the target. I could go on and on but I willl sum up by saying what an awesome experience. ps the coffee and donuts were good too and lunch at Dixie Place was yummy! |

I found Texas Gun Pros as a result of their advertising on one of their vehicles. This was a renewal class for me and was far superior in every aspect from my initial CHL at a different location. David and Jerry have a first class operation with superior instruction in both the classroom setting and on the range. Their military background is evident in their professional approach to making sure you get the info you need to be a safe and competent CHL holder. The atmosphere they bring while clean and professional is also an atmosphere that promotes relaxation and participation. Dedicating a day from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM makes for a long day; but when you arrive and they have coffee and donuts waiting, with 10 minute breaks during the classroom and lunch after the range, these guys really make a long day more enjoyable. They offer a great location, superior instruction and extended services even after the CHL class. David and Jerry of Texas Gun Pros have a winning combination that will bring repetitive business! |

I attended a class, my first one that I had put off for years, and went to Texas Gun Pros, David and Jerry were very professional and also very helpfull. As many people in the class they still had the time to answer questions and take each person as an individual. I had an accident after the lunch break and was still able to finish the class, instead of being rescheduled, that's professionalism, another class would have said sorry of your misfourtune. David and Jerry at Texas Gun Pros is going to be the only place that I will ever use in the future for renewals or other gun related training,I own a business and deal with a lot of people and when someone will ask where is the best place to go and get your CHL training, my answer will be the only place in the great State of Texas, Texas Gun Pros. |

My wife and I are very pleased with the entire process. She never fired a hand gun until that day. She qualified, and is now excited about getting more range time. TGP delivered all the information that is important regarding, gun safety, storage, history, laws, and most important, an open discussion about real life situations that you may encounter. Knowing that we will have options to protect ourselves, and an understanding of when and how we should exercise those rights, have made us more comfortable about moving forward to obtain a CHL. Will I recommend TGP to my friends: YES. |

Would recommend David Freeman and Texas Gun Pros to anyone wanting to take their Hunter Safety course. He was very professional and offered a laid back atmosphere while delivering very informative and pertinent information through a series of videos, power points, and live firing sessions. Will definitely be back in the future for other courses. |

Excellent training class. The class was very informative. It was not a standard 8 hour training class that seems to drag on and on. David did a good job with providing real life examples and videos to explain the important information on certain topics. Very helpful in understanding. Thank you. |

Great CHL class!! Highly Recommend!!! I really learned a lot. David and Jerry did a great job of keeping things interesting and moving along. Qualifying at the range was well organized and efficient. I especially appreciated the Review / Recap prior to taking the test. The final test was easy, because we all learned the material. I look forward to attending some of the other classes they offer. |

Very glad I decided to take my CHL class with Texas Gun Pros! David kept things moving right along throughout the day, stopped plenty of times to answer questions, and kept us engaged with the material. I liked how the range portion was conducted in a very low-stress atmosphere, as well as the excellent recap of the day's material prior to the written test. My first CHL Class and I thoroughly enjoyed the way Texas Gun Pros are professional in their approach and make their students relax during their delivery. They present appropriate video clips and pictures to make the subjects more memorable and entertaining, and no one in the class had any trouble passing the practical test (at the gun range nearby) or passing the written test at the end of the class. David ran the class today and he kept right on schedule - I highly recommend Texas Gun Pros to anyone, even first-time CHL like me! |

Excellent CHL class! Would recommend to anyone. I am a woman who knows essentially nothing about guns, but David was a very patient and kind teacher. I was able to shoot a pistol for the first time ever and it was a great feeling. I feel much more confident knowing that I can use a gun and also that I know the laws and consequences. |

Took the CHL class and found it to be very enjoyable. Instructor was very well versed in the law and taught it in a very relaxed manner. The shooting range portion was also very well done. I'm planning on sending my wife to a class for ladies who have never been around guns. I would recommend Texas Gun Pro to any one wants to get their CHL or for any gun classes. |

I had a lot of negative opinions about CHL classes other people had taken, but none that would give a positive recommendation, so I picked Texas Gun Pros based on their web site. Good choice. Great presentation and information. They kept it moving and interesting. I'd highly recommend TGP to anyone getting their initial or renewal. Great job guys Jim. |

I recently took the CHL class at Texas Gun Pros. I have been shooting for about 45 years. Dave and Jerry kept the class interesting throughout the entire day. They made sure we had all of the information we needed plus more and made sure it stuck with you. The shooting qualification was relaxed and fun. I would say that Texas Gun Pros is exactly what they are. I highly recommend them and will definitely be going back. |

I would highly recommend the CHL class from Texas Gun Pros. You can usually judge people by the type of students they attract to their classes. This was a really good group of people in the class. I was only obligated to stay half a day but the class was so informative and engaging i decided to stay for the whole day. Saturday, I took the CHL class for the first time with Texas Gun Pros, Inc. The instructors (David and Jerry) were excellent. They had just the right mix of humor and seriousness which kept the class very interesting. I was never bored and the material was thoroughly covered. Therefore, there was no problem when it came time for the test. I would highly recommend this class to anyone seeking a new or renewal CHL license. |

Yesterday I took the Basic Firearm Training Program from David and Jerry. I came away with much more knowledge than I expected, and am now preparing to purchase my first firearm. I just completed the CHL class given by David and Jerry. They are knowledgeable, friendly, humorous, and most importantly, good instructors. The examples, videos, and stories were all pertinent and really drove the intended points home. They are excellent with students who have never used a hand gun, and have much to teach to even the most seasoned shooters. All in all, an excellent choice for anyone who wishes to obtain a CHL or just learn or improve their knowledge of firearm safety and the use of firearms. |

This was an awesome class. I had never used a hand gun before and don't know much about guns. The instructors took extra time to answer all of my questions and stayed close by when it came time to practice/test. They even brought a gun for me to use as I hadn't bought one yet. I took the class for safety in my job and was glad I did. I would recommend this class to anyone looking to get or renew their CHL. |

I was new to guns and had never touched a handgun before, but after taking a CHL class from David and Jerry, I feel confident with handling handguns. David and Jerry are very patient. They not only teach how to use the gun, but also the gun laws and the personality of being calm and professional as a CHL owner. In short, the class is not just to get a CHL license, believe me, you will learn a lot out of it as well. |

Over my years as a Safety Coordinator for an Airline I can say that this Instructors rate is among the best. The class was well executed. David and Jerry are the guys to see. They make you feel extememly comfortable if you are first time shooter or if you have been shooting your entire life. Texas Gun Pros are the guys to go to. They make the boring stuff interesting and teach you alot of stuff that works outside of concealed carrying. I will be recommended these guys to anyone I talk to about concealed carrying. |

Jerry and Dave do a very good job. You can tell they really enjoy teaching the CHL class and they are very good about interacting with students at all levels of knowledge and experience. This is a long class, but they keep things moving and keep it interesting, and that is no small thing. I had already applied for my CHL online at https://www.texasonline.state.tx.us/txapp/txdps/chl/ and I had gotten my electronic fingerprints taken care of at L-1 I before attending this Texas Gun Pros class. They had everything else I needed to submit to state of Texas ready to go (including pictures) in a pre-addressed envelope before leaving the classroom. They are real pros and I could not recommend them more. |

Jerry and David keep the class interesting with very good examples and application. Their tag-team approach keeps the class moving. The only down side was that I was enjoying the class so much that the time flew by too quickly. They thoroughly prepare you for the test and handle the gun range portion very effectively. I did my application on line before the class and had electronic fingerprinting done the following day. They provided everything else, including a pre-addressed envelope for sending the supporting materials needed for the CHL. I sent in all my information the next morning following the class. I definitely recommend their CHL class and would assume their Hunter Safety class is as good. |

My husband and I just recently attended Texas Gun Pros CHL class. All we can say is WOW!!!! It was the best conceal and carry class we ever attended. The instructors were very knowledgeable and gave us new ways of thinking. We have attended other conceal and carry classes and we were trying to find ways just to stay awake. Here at Texas Gun Pros they incorrporated their lecture with handouts, powerpoints, video clips, brief self acting, and their own life experiences. I would recommend anyone to take this class. Great class I just qualified for my CHL. If you are looking for top notch instructors, David & Jerry, then Texas Gun Pros is for you. Easy atmosphere with plenty of breaks. It's an all day class, but I can honestly say that only about 30 minutes of the day was kinda boring, the rest of the day was very interesting making the day go by really fast. Their instructions was easy to understand on the range making it very stress free. Top notch! Thanks |
